League of Legends
To provide a competitive environment for League of Legends players of all skill levels, Yale Esports enters two intercollegiate leagues. Teams in both leagues typically hold tryouts in the Fall, hold regular practices, and enter several tournaments throughout the academic year. Below are more details regarding each team.
uLol
College League of Legends, or “uLol,” is Yale’s primary and most competitive League of Legends team. Players who are placed on the uLol team compete in weekly matches and are guided by two experienced coaches. Learn more about uLol here.
CSTAR
Aside from uLol, Yale Esports’ remaining League of Legends enter the CSTAR Star League, a national collegiate league. These teams cover a range of skill levels, and are typically more recreational in nature. Learn more about the CSTAR Star League here.
Hearthstone
Yale Esports assembles one Hearthstone team each year to participate in Blizzard’s official TESPA tournament. In the past, our teams have seen notable success, including a first place finish in the regular season. Learn more about TESPA Hearthstone here.
